Open Nights for Schools

Throughout the winter, the department runs regular (~3 per month) open nights for local schools. This is typically a 2--3 hour event for ~30 students plus teachers. The students are usually split into three groups, all attending a lecture, binocular and telescope viewing in turn. If the weather is cloudy (but not raining), the usual target is Nuffield College spire!

If you are interested in helping out, please contact FraserClarke or Sian Owen.

Open nights take precedence over other telescope users. The telescope is generally available after 9pm however.
